Hey, Farm friends

This is Lillian. How are you all doing?

Are you staying warm and cozy these cold wintery days? Michael is busy this week renovating the area where the new farm store and shipping area will be.

We are having a real freezing winter this year, one like we didn’t have for quite some years. So you can guess what I enjoy doing these days. Cooking up some hot, nutritious meals for our family. So I thought I would share a few recipes with you all to try.

Slow Cooked Whole Chicken Recipe

Here is one recipe I enjoy doing almost every week. Crock pot Whole chicken. It is an easy meal and very handy if you’re going away for the day or have an extra busy day. And the best thing of all, you have leftover chicken to make chicken salad, chicken & rice, and so many more nutritious & easy meals.

Creamy Ham & Potato Corn chowder Recipe

One of our family favorite soups. It is filled with healthy ingredients and a lot of veggies. I often do this tasty soup as a meal in itself. Also very delicious with garlic bread or breadsticks on the side.

Six layer Dinner Recipe

This is so delicious! And a very simple meal. All you have to add to the meal is a tossed salad.

Chuck Roast Beef Casserole Recipe

Another tasty nourishing meal! Tastes so good on the cold snowy days. If you have leftovers, put in containers and freeze. It makes for handy meals on busy days and days that you’re away all day.

Home Cooked Chicken Recipe

This is one of Ayden’s favorite meals. Just add a tossed salad and a cooked vegetable on the side.

What Am I Eating?

Hey Farm Friends, What a beautiful day this is turning out to be. Birds are singing and sun is shining so bright with hardly a cloud in sight. I think spring is coming soon :)  I want to challenge you (the reader) this week on this.  Look around at your food supply or at the grocery store the next time you go shopping. Was this food around 100 years ago? What are the ingredients in this food? If you can't pronounce it or don't know what it means then it's probably not good for you. Only about 10 to 15% of the foods found in grocery stores existed in a similar form hundred years ago. And over 60% of calories in modern US diet come from ultra processed foods. So I challenge you to look around at your food supply and question is this food safe to feed to my family?  Here at Pasture View Farm our mission is to bring you Real Unaltered Foods from our farm to your Family.  Blessings to a Healthy Life Michael  Pasture View Farm

The Value of Bone Broth

Hey friends, Greetings to all from Pasture View Farm. Wow, what a change in the weather. The snow is melting, we finally see the grass peeping thru. This kind of weather gets you excited for spring (including the animals :) ) This week I want to share with you the values of bone broth. One of the world’s oldest and most powerful medicines – bone broth is like liquid gold! It is rich in nutrients, minerals, amino acids, and proteins. It has been successfully used for Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis, Infections, colitis, and other digestive disorders. Wound healing, broken bones, and Surgeries had some amazing stories connected. Collagen in meat and bone broth is so important for our bodies. Collagen is essential for building, strengthening and healing muscles. I really enjoyed having it on hand this winter when one of us got the flu. There’s nothing that tastes better and is more nourishing when sick than sipping on some hot bone broth. Click here to see my recipe that I like to use. There will be Chicken and Beef Bone Broth available for online and in store sales soon. Wishing you a happy, healthy week! God Bless… Lillian Pasture View Farm

New Farm Store

Hey folks,  We are excited to share the farm store rendering of the proposed farm store here on the farm. We can hardly wait until we open for all you folks that are local to the farm to have a place to shop all our meats and other items. And for you folks who are not close to the farm you can still drive out some weekend and site see the beautiful rolling hills of Morgantown and stop in at the farm.😀 It looks like we can open the farm store early March if all goes well. With the new store we will be able to display a lot more of our products to make it easier for you to shop. Its gonna be a busy next couple of weeks fitting out the new area.  We are doing most of the work ourselves, which I don't mind. I enjoy doing this kind of work. My family says creating things is one of my talents, and then some ppl say well why don't you work in construction there isn't nothing creative in being a farmer is there?  Oh boy let me tell you, what happens when the cows get out and their a half a mile away and wanna have a mind of their own.  Or when the pigs get out of their paddock and figure out where the creek is the middle of the summer, that calls for some creative ways of keeping them out of the creek! 😁 I always liked figuring things out and visioning what or how it could be. And thats why I am excited for what a on the farm store can bring to our Patrons.  Have a great weekend! God Bless  Michael Pasture View Farm
